Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most scenic and diverse park within Uganda. Situated at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains, the habitat ranges from lakes and wetland, through to mountainous terrain with savannah and woodland in between. Witness leopard in the trees and elephants coming from the surrounding pains to the shores of the lake to congregate, cool off and get a drink.

For a change of scenery, pink flamingos can be spotted within the craters at Kyambura and Katwe, two extinct volcanoes on the edge of the park. Then travel deeper into Inshasha, where you will have to look a little harder to find the famous tree climbing lions. Try your own experience from a different perspective, taking a forest walk to track chimpanzees and other primates or clamber into a hot air balloon to get the lay of the land and witness nature in all its magnificence.
