Discover two of the many fascinating aspects of Tunisia: the treasures of history and the Arab cultural heritage.

Dive headfirst into the atmosphere of the medina, the old town that many consider the most beautiful and best preserved of North Africa, made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. After a look at the Great Mosque, topped by an imposing minaret, you sink in the souks ("markets" in Arabic). With their narrow streets full of artisan’s stalls and shops of all kinds, Tunis souks represent not only a place to shop, but also a meeting point for the local population.

Your guide will accompany you through the intoxicating fragrances of the perfume souk, among the colours of the wool souk. Soak up the sights sounds and smells within the storese, where you can admire the famous and traditional Tunisian carpets

After lunch your first stop will be the archaeological site of Carthage which for centuries was was the main port in the Mediterranean until in 146 BC, when the Romans, destroyed it. 

From there travel to Sidi Bousaid, this former town which was once devoted to religion. In 1207, a mystic named Abu Said Khalafa ben Yahia settled there to develop Sufism. Death made him the Town's Patron Saint and the hill of Sidi Bou Said became a center of spirituality.

After an early morning start, drive to the beautiful mountain side oasis village of Chebika. Chebika was once a Roman outpost, but later became a mountain refuge for the Berber people. Lac up your boots and hike through the Chebika canyon to the source of the mountain oasis. From there, travel to Tamerza which is the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia before heading to Mides where you will have a stunning panoramic view of the canyon below. The canyon was used for the filming of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The English Patient. Enjoy a well earned break upon your return to Tozeur for lunch.

In the afternoon, explore the oasis and the old town of Tozeur before dinner and your overnight stay

Bright and early transfer via the salt lake 'Chott El Jerid' and the oasis town of Douz to visit Matmata and the stunning troglodyte dwellings. Take tim eot talk with the locals who call this area home and explore their wonderful cave dwelling. Continue via Gabes on to Sfax where you will spend the night.

Depart after breakfast to El Jem to visit the well-preserved Roman Colosseum and marvel at 2000 years of history before continuing to the luxurious areas of Sousse and Monastir area. Visit Monastir with its Ribat fortress and President Bourguiba mausoleum before visiting Sousse old town and the marina.
