“’Hakuna Matata’ What a wonderful phrase”…

If you are starting to sing the rest of this Disney classic then you’ll undoubtedly be as excited as we are about the recently released live action remake. What could be better than reliving the highs and the lows of Simba’s journey? How about being there yourself? Get out on safari to experience the thrill of the chase and marvel at the majesty of Simba and company in the wild. But where will you find the inspiration for the original Disney classic? Perhaps Kenya, home to the majestic Maasai Mara is home to Pride Rock while the Elephant Graveyard could be set in the vast Serengeti plains of Tanzania.

Well why not hedge your bets and travel to both with this barefoot luxury approach to East Africa? The ten-day sustainable itinerary combines city hotels and exclusive camping and is a perfect way to get back to nature and connect to the cultures of the region as well as to the circle of life in the wild. Head out on this group safari with an expert guide and some rafiki to find where the lion sleeps (tonight) from just £2985 (including international flights).

Stage 1 - Kenya and the Mara

Arrive into Nairobi and explore the city before journeying through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara. Settle into your camp and head out for wildlife safari drives in search of the "big five" including Simba himself. Finish your days with evenings by the fire and spectacular nights under the stars.

Cross the border into the picturesque city of Arusha before you travel to the mighty Serengeti. Tanzania’s plains tend to be less crowded than some of Kenya’s reserves, so enjoy the scenery, the vast expanse of the grasslands and the play of light and shadow. Take in the safari drives to see the animal kingdom come to life in this incredible expanse of grassland savannah before settling into camp surrounded by culture and the natural world.
Day 5 - Crossing the border - Nairobi/Arusha
Journey across the border into Tanzania, arriving in the picturesque town of Arusha in the afternoon. Spend some time exploring the town and its bustling markets, before returning to your hotel.

So, what are you waiting for? Get up and get excited for a trip to the awe-inspiring plains of Kenya and Tanzania. Make Hakuna Matata your motto once more and set foot into the wilds this safari holiday. Get in touch to book your own Lion King-inspired journey to get closer to the Circle of Life.
